.It was strange what your daddy had to deal with but he dealt with it
实际上我能够理解其意思
我的理解是："你的父亲并不奇怪,奇怪的是他所要面对的一切,不过他面对了这一切"
为什么要说"There weren't nothing strange about your daddy"
我感觉是双重否定 那不就好像是肯定的意思了么
如果是我写的话 可能就这样写了：
"There were nothing strange about your daddy"

There weren't nothing strange about your daddy这句话是口语,严格来讲是不对的,there weren't anything才是正确的说法,但是很多欧美人士（尤其是没有受过良好教育的人士）往往使用nothing一词,其实也不会产生误解....
