two thirds of population后面的谓语用单数还是复数呀?

 对population的试题,应注意以下几点： 
1. 其前不能用数词修饰,也不能与many, few之类的词连用,指人口“多、少”用large, small；表示“某地拥有多少人口”,一般用“have a population of+基数词”. 
The population of this city is very large. 
中国现有13多亿人口. 
China has a population of more than thirteen hundred million now. 
2. 问某地的人口数,通常用what 或how large. 
 What／How large is the population of Europe? 欧洲有多少人口? 
3. population指“人口”总称,是集合名词,常用单数.作主语,其谓语动词可以用单数,侧重整体；也可用复数,侧重个体. 
 Half the world’s population doesn’t get enough to eat. 世界有一半人口没有足够的食物吃. 
 One third of the population here are workers.这里三分之一的人是工人.（指不同的地区、时期、民族的人口时,可用复数形式.
